I would imagine--still, the current list is likely not what one would guess it would be off the top of their head. I wonder what "Don't Stop Believin" was prior to the Soprano's finale?

Really? Do you think people have gone without any Beatles on their iPods because the catalog hasn't been for sale as an downloadable file? You don't think people haven't already ripped their own CDs or from p2p? Granted, it's the Beatles and sales will be sizable in perpetuity, but I think they've missed the biggest nut by being behind the curve.

Any other group and I'd agree with you, but the Beatles stuff was remastered in 1987 and even at the time George Martin said he did a very conservative job.

Based on the newly re-remastered material used in Love the jump in sonic quality when the Beatles stuff is finally rereleased is going to be massive, a level of quality that isn't currently available anywhere, even on vinyl.

The Beatles had the benefit of being one of the best-recorded bands in history; because EMI was really an equipment company, Abey Road had gear that was light-years ahead of everyone else. And because the masters were always recognized as being valuable, they've been carefully cared for for decades.

Most of those songs are what people like to listen to when they're at the gym or going for a jog. The Beatles don't have a lot of workout tunes in their catalogue.

that's a moot point as right now the beatles catalogue isn't available to download. you also have no idea what type of music the average person listens to when they do any kind of activity, let alone working out.
